It pretty much just felt like Oregon Trail deluxe, where instead of buying sacks of meal and axels you buy silk bags, and instead of shooting buffalo you use fireballs against Vermin and Wolves and Workers (hit a worker - pay a fine definitely doesn't exist in the game), and when I got to a stream I didn't have to call a meeting to decide whether to forde it, try to swim across, or pay $5 to take the ferry.
All in all it was enjoyable and I'd probably play again if ever I had nothing to do (like now). But it's definitely nothing to lose sleep or your soul over.
